Forecast Overview
The table to the right shows the updated 10-day forecast for Lake Diefenbaker.
- Inflows are expected to continue to decline and remain below normal.
- Based on the forecasted inflows, the reservoir is expected to drop by 0.08 m over the next 10 days.
- The current plan is to maintain outflows around 90 m³/s.
Current Conditions
- Flows in the Bow, Oldman, and Red Deer rivers continue to recede and remains below the median range for this time of year.
- Inflows into Lake Diefenbaker remain near lower quartile level.
- Outflows from Lake Diefenbaker are expected to remain near 90 m³/s.
- The reservoir is at 555.34 m. This level is between lower quartile and median range levels for September. Levels are expected to continue to slowly decline.
Hydrologic Conditions
- Minimal precipitation was received in the headwaters of the North and South Saskatchewan river basins over the past three days (Sept 22-24).
- No significant rainfall is expected for the rest of the week.
