Qu’Appelle River Dam
Qu’Appelle River Dam
The Qu’Appelle River Dam was substantially completed in 1967 as part of the South Saskatchewan River Project. Releases are made from the dam to the Qu’Appelle River, which provides:
- water supplies for the cities of Regina and Moose Jaw and a number of other smaller communities;
- the demands of a number of industries such as Global Mosaic and Yara;
- irrigation and other agricultural demands along the river system; and
- maintaining recreational levels on Buffalo Pound Lake, Last Mountain Lake and lakes further downstream.
