State of the Watershed Reporting Framework

State of the Watershed Reporting Framework

The Government of Saskatchewan announced the Water Security Agency’s release of the State of the Watershed Reporting Framework on Jan. 25, 2006. This Framework has been developed for the consistent reporting of a standardized set of indicators combined with a rating system to assess and communicate the condition of Saskatchewan’s watersheds.

The indicator-based report card style format will assist stakeholder groups, citizens, and businesses in improving decision making regarding our domestic, agricultural, industrial, and recreational water uses. This reporting system will provide information about the human activities (environmental stresses), and the health of the watershed (conditions), and it will report on the effectiveness of the management activities (responses) designed to address change within the watershed.
