Water Security Agency named Technology Professionals Saskatchewan’s Employer of the Year
The Water Security Agency (WSA) is pleased to announce that it has been chosen as the recipient of the 2026 Technology Professionals Saskatchewan Employer of the Year Award.
This award is presented to an organization each year by Technology Professionals Saskatchewan, the provincial governing body for Professional Technologists (P.Tech.) and Certified Technicians (C.Tech.).
The Employer of the Year Award recognizes WSA’s commitment to supporting the professional standards and career growth of over 60 employees with a Professional Technologist or Certified Technician designation throughout the organization.
“We are honoured to be the recipient of the 2026 Employer of the Year Award,” said Shawn Jaques, President and CEO of Water Security Agency. “This award is more than just a corporate achievement; it is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our staff. Investing in our technologists’ and technicians’ professional standing with TPS ensures we can continue to deliver safe, collaborative solutions for citizens across Saskatchewan.”
By prioritizing continuing education and professional registration, WSA remains a trusted leader in Saskatchewan’s technical community. This award reinforces the organization’s commitment to fostering a workplace that celebrates technical expertise and operational excellence.
“The Water Security Agency has demonstrated a strong commitment to public safety by ensuring its technical staff are registered with Technology Professionals Saskatchewan and adhere to a stringent Code of Ethical Conduct,” said Troy Libke, PTech, President of Technology Professionals Saskatchewan. “Their investment in the continuous professional development of their employees makes them an attractive workplace for the next generation of technical professionals.”
Saskatchewan’s Water Security Agency is one of a kind in Canada. The agency owns and operates over 70 dams and hundreds of kilometres of canals and also regulates almost all drinking water and wastewater systems in the province. It brings multiple water management responsibilities together in one place to provide a comprehensive approach to the province’s water needs. Consolidating water management under one agency allows us to balance the needs of communities, industry, agriculture and the environment in our water usage guidelines and strategies.
