Funding Still Available to Support Agricultural Water Management Projects
The Water Security Agency (WSA) reminds farmers and landowners considering drainage projects, you have a until the end of January to apply for cost-shared funding to support project design as part of the Agricultural Water Management Fund.
“This fund has been critical in helping farmers advance responsible and well-planned agricultural water management projects,” Minister Responsible for the Water Security Agency Dave Marit said. “The program has been focused on balancing environmental stewardship with agricultural growth.”
Applicants can receive up to $25,000 for Qualified Person support for agricultural water management projects. Qualified Persons help to advance projects, including preparing drainage applications, assisting with project planning and acting as a liaison between landowners.
Eligible recipients include:
– Individuals or corporations registered in Saskatchewan who own, lease, or rent property for agricultural production purposes
– First Nations in Saskatchewan
– Saskatchewan rural municipalities
– Conservation & Development Area Authorities
– Watershed Associations
– Board Irrigation Districts
